[theqoo] Blackpink Jennie Interview on Dua Lipa Podcast
You just brought a part of Jennie's interview. What's going on? Bring in the rest.
(Maybe this isn't full either)
Should I bring in Dua's questions?
... Most of the content seems to be about Jennie's inner thoughts than general Korean culture.
Dua: "Blinks have noticed that you really love singing the song, tally... What does that song mean to you?"
Jennie: "I was scared to express myself and overtime, I grew and was able to express myself and people see that as breaking the boundaries rather than 'she is doing something she is not allowed to do'. More fans were loving the song and I was connecting with blinks while I was on stage.. They were the ones who gave me my confidence and the support to really enjoy the song. Starting my career in Korea as a K-Pop artist has restricted so many sides of me where it wasn't just allowed to be shown because I'm a K-Pop idol... I wanna break more boundaries for people in my culture to understand that expressing yourself as however you want isn’t — there shouldn’t be a standard, there shouldn’t be a reason to judge. Just see it as 'Oh that's how that person expresses themselves...''
...
Dua: "Blackpink became the first K-pop group to headline Coachella this year. How did you feel about this historic moment? When you show your culture, style and works of your life to 250,000 spectators."
Jennie: "Four years ago, we performed in the Sahara Tent, and I cried because I was proud after the performance. And what's really exciting is that we incorporated Korean culture into our stage set this time. I was so proud and happy. To explain, the set was taken from the roof of Hanok, Korean architecture and the beginning of the stage started with Hanbok, a traditional Korean costume, It was short, but we really wanted to incorporate our culture into this Coachella stage, so we put it in. To show you where we started and how far we've come.
